Models DIVA and DIVA-14
The DIVA Series adapts the technology of our legendary road racing bikes for a stepthrough design with added comfort and easy handling. Low weight and a unique combination of strength, suppleness and superb fit come together in a machine that allows the rider to efficiently soak up road miles without the usual fatigue inducing ride of pure road racing and criterium framesets. It's great for:

One secret to Waterford's great ride is our advanced tubeset engineering. We've integrated the new generation of air-hardening steels - True Temper OX Platinum and Reynolds 853 - throughout our model line. Press for more information on Waterford's air-hardening steels. Using these alloys as a base, we've designed a custom tubing palette we use to meet each individual rider's needs:
Waterford's design team pioneered OS tubing in the late 1980's and has carried this tubing system further than any other builder:
- Special oversized diameter tubing, including chainstays as well as main tubes, increases tubing stiffness while reducing weight. Flaring the seatmast at the bottom bracket adds stiffness where it has the maximum impact on pedaling efficiency.
- Round cross-section tubing without bends offers the highest possible strength to weight ratio.
- Waterford's unique short-butt design eliminates any unnecessary weight while assuring strength near the lugs - precisely where it is needed.
- Waterford specifies different tube thicknesses for different sizes of frame, allowing bigger riders the stiffness they need and smaller riders the comfort they want.
Our geometry integrates the structural features to produce an unparalleled ride:
- The DIVA platform features great long-distance features thanks to its upright riding position, comfortable handling and longer wheelbase.
- Waterford starts with a system of great standard geometries that maintain proper weight distribution over a wide range of sizes. Included with every Waterford are made to measure services. Every rider can get their ideal fit!
- Our head angle/fork rake combinations assure responsive steering without twitchiness.
- By lowering the bottom bracket position from its traditional location we provide a more stable ride while taking advantage of the extra ground clearance provided by clipless pedals.
- Rear dropouts are spread to 130mm to fit the most up-to-date high-performance component groups.
Forks
You can order a number of quality forks for your racing machine. We take pains to match precisely your frame with your fork to assure the best possible ride:
Waterford's Steel Fork
No builder creates a steel fork with the ride of a Waterford fork. The combination of stiff crown and soft blade tips combines to offer what many riders characterize as the best ride you can buy!
- The 22-series fork comes with a Henry James investment cast fork crown whose elegant design minimizes weight while offering exceptionally responsive steering. Our in-house fork-building capability lets us offer handling packages that fall outside the range of the available composite forks.
- Waterford 1" forks are available as both threaded and threadless configurations at no extra charge. The 1 1/8" fork is only available in threadless.
- Custom-engineered Reynolds 531 constant wall thickness fork blades as well as our special fork rake offer excellent shock damping.
- The 22-series fork receives Waterford stainless steel dropouts. Your dropout faces stay clean - no rust or peeling of the finish.
Composite forks
Waterford offers an exceptional range of composite forks. Composite forks are only recommended when the geometry matches the available forks.
- Reynolds Ouzo Pro - in both 1" and 1 1/8" threadless
- Reynolds Ouzo Comp - in 1" and 1 1/8" threadless
- True Temper Alpha Q with either the TI or Carbon steerer
- True Temper Alpha Q Sub 3 Carbon steerer
- Profile Design BRC 1"
DIVA
- Our advanced lower head lugs incorporate threaded derailleur cable guides which, with our spring loaded barrel adjusters offers riders the first truly STI, Ergo and bar-end system compatible frameset in the world! Riders can make derailleur adjustments on the fly. Versatile downtube shifter bosses are available.
- Waterford stainless dropouts maintain high strength while eliminating corrosion and paint abrasion from quick release levers. We maintain such tight alignment standards that no dropout adjusters are required on the frame.
- Riders looking for a more upright position might benefit from our head tube extensions. Press here for an example of head tube extensions.
- Available for 1" steerers - threaded and threadless.
- Every frameset comes with and two sets of water bottle braze-ons.
DIVA-14
- Available for both 1" and 1 1/8" steerer tubes.
- Versatile downtube shifter bosses are available.
- Our brazed-on seat collar provides a finished look and secure clamping power.
- Our stainless steel vertical dropouts have a clean look while holding the rear wheel firmly in place.
