Waterford Themes :: Pinstriping

Waterford offers a variety of hand painting services including pinstriping and name personalization. They offer you a way to accent your finish and to truly customize your bike. Here's an example of our Deluxe Pinstripe package (outlining head lugs and fork crown; arrows on the top tube and fork blades):

Pinstripe Levels

Deluxe Pinstripe Package: This includes outlining around the head lugs and fork crown plus arrows on the top tube and fork blades.
Super-Deluxe Pinstripe Package: Add to the deluxe pinstripe package outlining for the seat lug and bottom bracket.
Box-Pinstripe Job: This style, popular in the 30's and 40's, has seen a revival in recent years. Consider the examples below (a combo of box striping with a superdeluxe stripe job.

Special Considerations: Pinstriping around complicated shapes such as the Custom Carved lugs or Nervex lugs may involve extra charges.

Hand painting requires the use of special paints which differ from our standard colors. Current pinstriping technology does not allow us to offer metallic hand paints (gold or silver). Instead we offer close non-metallic equivalents.

Pinstriping colors:

Red - close to our Intense Red
Yellow - a bit orange-ish compared to our decals and Hyper-Canary Yellow
Blue
Purple
White
Black
Gray - approximation for silver.
Tan - approximation for gold.

Tips:

In most cases, pinstriping and hand painting should match one of the colors of the decals. For example, if on a silver bike you select red decals with black accents, then black or red are the obvious choices.
Avoid colors that duplicate the underlying color (black on black or white on white).
If you choose both to pinstripe the frame as well as to add your name to the top tube, then we'll put the name on the rear of the top tube (i.e., by the seat) so as not to interfere.
