Waterford Stainless Lug Option
headtube

Many a red-blooded American bike rider from the 60's and 70's gazed into their local bike shop window to the shops ultimate treasure - most of the time a classic Schwinn Paramount with chrome plated lugs, Reynolds 531 double-butted tubing and top of the line Campy components.

Today you ride that dream with today's technology. The classic 531 has been upgraded to Waterford's custom designed heat-treated air hardening tubesets, and the lugs are now polished investment-cast stainless steel - with the classic Nervex lug profile.

What's more, you can have this masterpiece built to match your ideal fit since all Waterfords are made to measure. Though lug angles are limited, the flexibility they allow, combined with the integrated head tube extension, makes it easy to fit your riding style.

You can also select from the full range of Waterford's road handling packages from full on road racing to cross country touring designs.

Don't forget the matching Nervex-Style polished investment-cast stainless steel crowned fork. The smooth road feel and precise handling will make every ride a dream.

These orders do take extra time because of the work involved. Add 1-4 weeks to the typical Waterford turnaround.

Italian cut headlugs

The Nervex lug wasn't the only dream design during the classic era. The clean lines of builders like Colnago, De Rosa and Bianchi's Reparto Corsa shop stirred the souls of many a rider. To honor these fine designs Waterford also offers the "Italian Cut" stainless lug styling.

With this look we offer all the same options we have for all our stainless lug bikes: the best tubing around - custom selected for you; made to measure sizing as well as Waterford's unmatched craftsmanship.

Below are examples of the optional polished stainless seat cluster and bottom bracket shell. The seat cluster shows the classic flat cap styling found on Schwinn Paramounts from 1938 to the 1980's.
