Lugged bicycle frames have many advantages over Tig-welded frames. First, properly fitting lugs will distribute tube junction stresses over a greater area. This leads to a more refined, predictable ride that will last many years to come.

Stainless steel is comprised of a minimum of 10.5% chromium. The added chromium, when contacted with air, creates a very thin, nearly invisible layer of chromium oxide, which seals the surface of the steel to prevent moisture and oxygen from creating rust.

This characteristic, combined with high tensile strength and work-hardened, cold-drawn tubes, creates a lighter-weight, more responsive ride when compared to modern chromoly steel tubes. This is achieved through very thin yet strong butted sections of our hand-selected tubesets.
