Waterford Tig Welded Stainless Steel 22-Series Artisan

Our 22-Series bicycle frames feature fully TIG-welded frame construction. There are some advantages of Tig-welded frames over lugs. Carefully selected, per bicycle chosen, blend of Reynolds and KVA stainless allows for a highly tunable ride for the most discerning metal bicycle enthusiasts.

Tig-welded stainless frames allow for a lighter overall bicycle when compared to Lugged frames, such as our Artisan series. Being tig welded, we have no constraints on geometry. We have a firm belief that your bike should fit you, not that you need to fit your bike.

Much like our 22-Series Artisen bikes, stainless tubes can be drawn much thinner than standard chromoly without losing strength. If you have any questions about the advantages of Martensitic Precipitation-Hardening stainless steel tubesets, please reach out.

The customization does not stop with the geometry. Frame finishes are available upon request. If you can dream it we can achieve it.

Our 22-Series bicycles have no model names. Each frame we craft is an involved and intimate conversation about what your new bike needs to do for you. Our Tig-welded frames fall into a few major categories: traditional road, all-road, touring, travel and gravel.

  • Tire Width: 32c to 50c groupset and surface dependant

  • Headtube: 1 1/8”, EC37, tapered, or 44mm straight

  • Bottom Bracket: BSA 68 or T47 68

  • Brake mount: Rim brake, Canti, or disc

  • Hub spacing: 9x130 or 12x142

  • Cable routing: Internal or external

  • Front Derailleur: Braze-on, Clamp-on, or none

  • Seatpost Diameter: 26.8, 27.2, or 31.6

  • Warranty: Lifetime to the original owner
